Bullet Journal Ideas - The Unexpected Delights of Paper Doilies

You may not think of the humble paper doily as glamorous.  But, if you look closely, you’ll see that that delicate papercut patterns of paper doilies are quite beautiful. Their dainty lace edges make them an excellent decorating material — they can add splendid visual and textural detail. 

Here are 2 ideas for how you can use paper doilies for decoration:

1. Vintage-themed bullet journals

Ordinary paper doilies are white, which makes them hard to see on white journal pages. Use vintage ink and a sponge brush to add texture to the doilies and bring out the detail of the lace.

2. Packing gifts

Doilies make excellent gift packaging. Use them to add texture to plain wrapping paper. Cut off a section of a doily and glue it around your package to show off the delicate lace pattern.
